The Unique and Effective Curriculum at the Zee Interactive Learning Systems Franchise
There are currently more than 425 schools all over India and abroad. The curriculum is structured keeping in mind the interests and the abilities of growing minds involving complete interaction. All children are encouraged to collaborate and help each other under the unique concept of “learning by doing".
Children are given the opportunity to join in free play that includes cars, blocks, puzzles, music, Lego, story time, craft, etc. Ample time and training is given for the development of the child’s oral, creative and academic skills. It is an activity oriented programme that has activities designed to involve all "senses". Special focus is given on "motor activities" in order to enhance eye to hand coordination, control over movements, etc.
The concepts used are “Concrete to abstract”, “Play /Learn Equipment”, “Environment” and ‘Aids.” The teachers act as facilitators or coaches rather than teach. This facilitates in the all round development of children. Teachers are specially trained to enable them to handle children with care, understanding the individual differences found in them and treating them as little adults.
In a childcare setting, teachers encourage behaviours that are appropriate and constructive and help children understand those behaviours that are unsuitable. Quality control of curriculum and content is done on a regular basis. The equipment is hygienically maintained and well kept. There is a special manual for children’s behaviour management too.
The manual called ‘Behavioural Deviations in Preschool Children’, is a simple endeavour to outline some of the more common challenging, demanding and difficult behaviours that caregivers and parents face. This manual also has management strategies or ‘Behavioural Management Plans as well as Programmes’ that teachers, parents or care-givers and can use when they need to handle difficult and tough behavioural situations.
Celebrating different days like Pets Day, Friendship Day, Monsoon Day, Children’s Day, Father’s Day Grandparents Day, Teacher’s Day, Mother’s Day, Learning Good Manners, Gardening Day, Parent’s Day & Mummy’s Day out, etc helps young children to grow in their understanding of the sensitivity to the physical and social forces. This also helps in the development of the ability and skill to cope with and to manage their futures. 04.06.2007
