How the Whirlpool India Franchise Evolved
It was by entering the Brazilian territory that the Whirlpool India franchise started its global expansion. The retail services franchise initiated its Indian branch by the end of 1980s. The home appliances provider franchise made its entry into the Indian market by associating itself with the TVS group. The first manufacturing unit of the Whirlpool India franchise was set up in Pondicherry.
It was in 1995 that the Whirlpool India franchise acquired Kelvinator India Ltd in order to make its entry towards the refrigerator market. Later, in 1996, the acquisitions made by TVS and Kelvinator were merged together with the Whirlpool group. This made the retail services franchise, the leading home appliances provider in the country.
