Evolution of the Dodsal Franchise

The Dodsal franchise was formed in April 2001 after the merger of two other companies, namely Dodsal Indmag and Dodsal Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. Dodsal Indmag Pvt. Ltd. was established to start the business of trading, indenting, distribution and marketing of a wide range of products from industrial raw materials and products, chemicals to material handling equipment and represents foreign principles for the above-mentioned products in India.

Dodsal Indmag Pvt. Ltd had another division that carries on with the business of hiring equipment, but it was discontinued from 1 April, 2003 and initially acquired franchising right from Pizza Hut, in Gujarat, India. Dodsal Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. was set up in 1998 to start the business of quick service restaurants.

Since then, this company had acquired the franchising rights for Pizza Hut for the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and the city of Mumbai, and the franchising rights for KFC in Mumbai and Bangalore. In 1997 this group choose to diversify into restaurant business. Dodsal Indmag acquired franchising rights from Tricon International (now called YUM! Restaurants) for Pizza Hut, for the state of Gujarat.

Then finally the two companies were merged, and a company called Dodsal Corporation Pvt. Ltd. emerged. This food and hospitality franchise carries out both the businesses: agency and foods and hospitality.
