Establishment of the IMS Learning Resources franchise
The IMS Learning Resources franchise was established by Prof. Nagesh Rane, who was initially a lecturer in the HR College and IIM, Ahmedabad. Prof. Nagesh Rane of the education and training franchise had the vision to open India’s doors for the opportunities across the globe for the talented youth by providing management education. This vision gradually transformed the education provider franchise into a vibrant and strong brand across the India.
A humble beginning for the IMS Learning Resources franchise with seven students was witnessed in 1977 for effective business communication and writing skills. In 1981, the education provider franchise had more than 100 students and in 1985, it started its courses for GMAT and GRE. In 1992, the first ever SimulatedCAT (SIMCAT) was conducted by the education and training franchise, which became very popular.
In 1999, IMS Learning Resources franchise gained its corporate identity and opened operations in Kolkata and Nagpur and new learning centres were opened in Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Cochin, Chandigarh, , Durgapur, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Noida, Lucknow, Pune, Santacruz, Patna, Udaipur, Thane and Vashi in 2000. The education and training franchise has the vision to be an organisation to be well recognised across the globe by students, employees, educational institutes, shareholders, the industry and the public.
