The Hardcastle Restaurants franchise operates McDonald's restaurants in Western India. McDonald's opened its doors to India in October 1996, bringing along a new concept in the world of fast foods. Since then, McDonald’s has become a household name in the select cities where it operates.
The first Hardcastle fast foods franchise restaurant opened on 15th April 1955 in Des Plaines, Illinois, U.S.A. Almost 50 years down the line, the Hardcastle franchise is the world's largest food service system with more than 30,000 restaurants in 100 countries, serving more than 46 million customers every day. Since 1996, the McDonald family restaurants have opened in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Faridabad, Doraha, Manesar, Noida and Gurgaon and have demonstrated what a McDonald's experience is all about.
In India, McDonald’s is a 50-50 joint venture partnership between McDonald’s Corporation of the USA and two Indian businessmen, Amit Jatia and Vikram Bakshi. Amit Jatia’s company, Hardcastle Restaurants owns and operates McDonald's fast food franchise restaurants in Western India. On the other hand, the Connaught Plaza Restaurants Pvt. Ltd. that is headed by Vikram Bakshi owns and operates the Northern operations.
Both Amit Jatia and Vikram Bakshi share McDonald's complete commitment to Quality, Service, Cleanliness and Value that Mcdonald boasts of. They signed their joint-venture agreements with McDonald's in April 1995. After that they trained their staff extensively, along with their Indian management team, in McDonald's fast food franchise restaurants in Indonesia and the U.S.A. before opening the first McDonald’s restaurant in India.
