Examinations, offering qualitative training to the young children of 7 to 12
years and preparing them for University of Cambridge ESOL-YLE – tests.
The Cambridge ESOL certificates are recognized by many prestigious educational
institutions, universities and Employers throughout the world. These
certificates are evidence that learners have sufficient language ability to
follow courses taught in English. Employers recognize Cambridge ESOL
certificates while recruiting staff.
The tests provide a gentle introduction to public exams and research shows that
children find the tests highly motivating. They aim to:
There are three parts to the test at each level with accurate assessment of each
of the skills mentioned; it helps to develop a full range of abilities to enable
students to use the English language effectively.
1. Listening
2. Reading & Writing
3. Speaking
Listening is very important trait, and good listeners are keen observers. Hence
the habit of listening and observing on what is being said is very important.
The children are trained to listen carefully to the entire question / dialogue
before answering or choosing the right answer to the questions.
Reading and Writing is the ability to read sentences and write the same in
clear, effective and coherent manner by forming sentences using proper
grammatical usage like, conjunctions, prepositions, verbs, tenses and plurals
shows ones ability to communicate effectively and also the amount of command and
control over the language, rather than just focus on spellings. Care is taken to
see that the person communicates effectively without breakdown of communication
due to incomplete or incoherent communication.
Speaking is the ability of an individual to express oneself to another by way of
speech in conversation. The tests are conducted as a short interview lasting 5
to 9 minutes with an oral examiner who is specially trained to administer these
tests.
Every child who takes the Cambridge YLE test receives an official award issued
by Cambridge ESOL
The award shows their performance in each of the three parts of the test by way
of Cambridge Shields.
Nobody fails the test and thus the award only shows positive achievement in each
skill, indicating the child’s strengths and areas of improvement
These awards highly motivate children and encourage them towards language
learning
The tests are available at three levels depending on the language proficiency of
the child, namely;
1.Starters
2.Movers
3.Flyers
Classes are held for 2 hours a week
Duration is for 4 (Four) months per level of test
Fees structure per level:
Course material = Rs. 700
Course fee = Rs.2,400 (Rs.600 per month x 4 months)
Exam fee = Rs.1,500
Tests are conducted at the Learning Centre as far as possible and certificates
are issues by the University of Cambridge ESOL England.
YLAPL are looking for enthusiastic individuals who have entrepreneurial skills
and the drive to drive a business in education as Franchisees for Learning
Centers. YLAPL are also looking for good Course Instructors (CI) for this
course. All of them will be interviewed and trained by us in Mumbai
Who can open a Learning Centre (LC)?
1. You must be a Graduate with proficiency in English
2. You must have about 400 to 600 sq. ft. of space including classrooms of 150
sq. ft. each
3. Ability to invest Rs.75,000 towards franchise fees and working capital
4. The franchise agreement is renewable after 3 years
Who can become a Course Instructor (CI)?
1. While the LC Franchisee too can become a CI they should be properly trained
for the YLE course in either case.
2. Graduate with good proficiency in English is a must. Certification in
teaching is preferred
3. You should be creative and be able to handle children in the age group of 7
to 12 years old
4. Ability to invest about Rs.20,000 towards training and course material
preparation.
