Establishment of the Reliance World franchise
It was with this belief that Reliance Communications, which was formerly known as Reliance Infocomm, started building 60,000 route kilometres of a pan-India fibre optic layout. This was commissioned on 28 December 2002 by the retail business, which was Dhirubhai’s 70th birthday. The telecom franchise has a digital network that is reliable, integrated (wireless and wireline), high-capacity and convergent, including data, voice and video.
The Reliance World franchise is capable of delivering a wide range of services across the entire “infocomm,” that is, the information and communication value chain, along with infrastructure and services, for enterprises, applications, individuals and consulting. At present, the telecom franchise is revolutionising the way in which the people in India should communicate and network, by improving the way of life and providing communication opportunities to people in the country at affordable rates. 06.06.2007
