The Koutons franchise is an India-based retail chain that provides garments for men. The men’s apparel franchise established its operations in garment manufacturing and exports in India in early 1991. The garment services franchise then extended its business from a garment manufacturer to a retailer by opening up its own stores in 2002.

Currently, Koutons sells the garments it manufactures through a chain of exclusive brand outlets called “Koutons.” The outlets have become one of the largest integrated men’s apparel retail chains in India and cater to an entire range of men’s apparel. The company’s operations range from sourcing of fabric to manufacturing and finishing the garments and selling in its retail stores.

The retail chain is funded by UTI Ventures, the leading Indian Private Equity firm. The <ul type="continuous"><cf number="2">&#8217;</cf></ul>mens apparel franchise has been receiving investments from the UTI Ventures and US-based Argonaut for their business in India. Currently, UTI Ventures manages two funds - Ascent India Fund and India Technology Venture Unit Scheme (ITVUS).

UTI Ventures currently manages funds in excess of USD 200 million. Ascent India Fund is a private equity fund launched in April 2005 and aims to reap the benefits of investing in promising young Indian companies by providing them with growth capital.
